Important announcement for students who will apply for a transfer from abroad
According to the new arrangements made by the Council of Higher Education (YOK) within the scope of combating the global epidemic, a preliminary examination will be made for the candidates, who meet the conditions* specified by the Council of Higher Education before the official application from the students studying at universities abroad.
The following information and documents should be sent to buse.icagasi@ieu.edu.tr address in order for important issues such as the course equivalency and class adjustment of the candidates to be preliminary examined by the relevant Departments and to inform them.
1.Transcript
An official transcript that your university will send to you in an electronic environment or if not applicable, a digital version you will receive through the student information system of the university can also be sent.
2. Course content link
Link to the course description information of the courses you have taken (appearing on your transcript).
The preliminary examination to be made is to inform our candidates in advance and to speed up the official application process that follows. The official application dates will be announced on the University’s web page in line with the statements of YOK. You will need to apply on the specified dates with the official documents requested for application.
We will reply to the candidates, who reach us at buse.icagasi@ieu.edu.tr address for preliminary examination, within 10 business days the latest after we receive their mail.

TERMS SPECIFIED BY THE COUNCIL OF HIGHER EDUCATION REGARDING TRANSFERS FROM UNIVERSITIES ABROAD SPECIFICALLY FOR 2020-2021 ACADEMIC YEAR FALL SEMESTER
- Being registered at the associate, undergraduate or postgraduate level in higher education institutions abroad that are recognized by the Council of Higher Education.
- Having the domestic minimum placement score, in the relevant score type of the program they want to apply by taking the OSYS / YKS exam or equivalent document (SAT, ACT, Abitur, Baccalaureate etc.) specified in the Guide in the year that students are enrolled in higher education institution abroad.
(This condition is not required for students, who will apply from the top 1000 universities in any of the world rankings made by the ranking institutions determined by YOK.)
- Meeting the ranking condition in the OSYS / YKS Guide for the departments / programs in which the ranking is sought in the relevant year.

- Having a GPA of at least 60 over 100 (2.29 over 4.00) in associate and undergraduate programs, and at least 70 over 100 (2.72 over 4.00) in Faculty of Medicine.
(This condition is not required for students, who will complete the preparatory class at the university they are enrolled in and apply to the first year.)
- Priority is given to the students who provide the GPA, however, students who are unable to meet the required GPA, if they meet the other requirements and if there is available quota, will also be able to apply. However, if the transfer is accepted, the class they will be adjusted to will be evaluated accordingly.
- Transfer application can be made to first year and last year.
(Those, who continue their language education only without enrolling in a higher education institution abroad, cannot apply for a transfer.)
