STUDENT HEALTH AFFAIRS AND MEDICAL REPORTS REGULATION
Purpose
Article 1-(1) (Changed SD 11.12.2024-543/2024/23-C/3 BTD 20.12.2024/95) The purpose of this Regulation is to set the procedures and principles to be followed in case students apply to the relevant units to receive health services and obtain a medical report.
Scope
Article 2- (1) (Changed SD 11.12.2024-543/2024/23-C/3 BTD 20.12.2024/95) It covers all students studying at Izmir University of Economics.
Form of Application

(1) Students may apply to the University Health Office, the Health, Culture and Sports Directorate, and other health institutions regarding their health problems.
(2) Medical reports from State Hospitals, University Hospitals, Family Health Physicians and IUE Physician are accepted for midterm and final exams announced in the University’s academic calendar.

Validity and Duration of Reports (Changed with Title SD 11.12.2024-543/2024/23-C/3 BTD 20.12.2024/95)
Article 6- (1) Medical reports from State Hospitals, University Hospitals, Family Health Physicians and IUE Physician are accepted for midterm and final exams.
(2) Except for midterm and final exams, reports received during the semester are not accepted and the student is considered absent on the dates of the report.
(3) Reports are valid from the date they are submitted and students must submit their reports regarding the make-up exams to the Graduate School/Faculty/Vocational Schools/Schools within 3 working days after the end of the report at the latest. No action is taken for reports that are not submitted within the deadline.
(4) In case of a situation that requires a report for more than five weeks in a semester, the student must apply to the Faculty Dean's Office/ Graduate School Directorate/School Directorate to defer registration for the semester. Deferral of registration is carried out according to the provisions of the relevant legislation of Izmir University of Economics.
Medical Reports Procedures:

(1) The following procedures are carried out for the reports received from the institutions accepted as valid and submitted to the relevant academic unit in due time:
a) If the student cannot take the midterm exam, a make-up exam is held and the midterm exam grade is entered into the system until the date announced in the academic calendar.
b) If the student cannot take the final exam, the rules regarding the (I- Incomplete) grade specified in the relevant legislation provisions of Izmir University of Economics are applied.
Medical Expenses
Article 8- (1) If students have health coverage, their health expenses are paid by that institution; if not then students have to pay.

Article 9/A-(1) This Regulation may be amended by the decision of the Senate.
Effectiveness
Article 10- This Regulation takes effect on the date of the approval by the Board of Trustees.
Enforcement
Article 11- The Rector of the Izmir University of Economics enforces the provisions of this Regulation.
This regulation takes effect upon the decision of the Executive Board dated 28/08/2001 and numbered 19/B-8.
