Military Processes
FOR UNDERGRADUATE AND ASSOCIATE DEGREE PROGRAM STUDENTS
Postponement Period and Age Limit:
Military service for students may be postponed during the continuation of their education within the age limit shown in the table below.

Military service for students may be postponed during the continuation of their maximum education period shown in the table below.

Students Who Take Leave of Absence:
The education period of students who are excused by Relevant Boards (for leave of absence) will be added to their maximum education period and their military service will be postponed for these periods.
Under no circumstances, leave of absence for postponement of military service may exceed 2 years or 4 semesters.
Students do not need to apply for postponement procedures.
Attention to students:
- Whose registrations are cancelled ,
- Who graduated,
- Status of students, who transferred to another university, is communicated with military recruiting offices through the system.
Military service process for foreign national students will be carried out by themselves (if they have such an obligation), and they will be subjected to their native country’s regulations.
Students Who Take Leave of Absence:
The status of students who take leave of absence will not be reported to Recruiting Office. However, in the case of not completing their education within maximum education period, a proposal regarding the extension of postponement is made to Recruiting Office.
Under no circumstances, leave of absence for postponement of military service may exceed 2 years or 4 semesters.
Postponement Process:
A “Military Status Document” is required from Graduate and PHD program students during registration.
“Military Status Document” and a certified copy of “Diploma” will be sent to the relevant Recruiting Office to propose a postponement of the military service for the student by the Student Affairs Office within one month of the exact registration date. Proposal will be finalized by the decision of the Recruiting Office and the student will be notified about the decision.
Students who wish to do their military service as they continue their education may file a petition to the university and request to cancel their military postponement. The status of these students will be reported to Recruiting Office upon their request and will be finalized by the approval of the Recruiting Office. The student will be notified about the decision.

The military service will not be postponed for those who had a graduate education in same or lower degree before and are going to have graduate education in the same degree for the second time.
