WHO CAN ATTEND THE CEREMONY?
- Students, who graduated at the end of 2015-2016 fall semester, students who are in 4th grade undergraduate degree programs, and who are in 2nd grade associate degree programs as of spring semester will be able to attend the Graduation Ceremony,
- Students, who graduated at the end of 2015-2016 fall semester, and students (in thesis programs) who submitted their thesis until the beginning of the next academic year, and students (in non-thesis programs) who have taken all courses regarding the last semester, will be able to attend the Graduation Ceremony.
CEREMONY APPLICATION
There is no need to submit a form in person since applications will be received online. Address, telephone, and e-mail information on OASIS System need to be checked and updated to be able to see the Application Form. (Updating is good for the past one month. Therefore, if you’ve already updated your Contact Info before, you may need to repeat the procedure. If your information is the same, you just need to click on “Update” button.)
All students who will attend the ceremony need to apply through OASIS system at “Monitor/Graduation Ceremony Applications/ Application Form” menu, fill out the information, and click on “Send” button.
Students, who fail to fill out Graduation Ceremony Application Form on time, will not be allowed to attend the ceremony.
CEREMONY REHEARSAL
Information on where to sit, stand, how to go on stage, overall flow of the ceremony will be given to the students at the rehearsal. All students, who filled out the Application Form to attend the ceremony, are required to attend the ceremony rehearsal.
Graduation gowns and caps will be provided one day prior to the ceremony.
Students without academic gowns will not be allowed to attend the ceremony.

RANKING STUDENTS
Top student of the University and highest ranking undergraduate and graduate students will be identified following the announcement of end of semester grades of spring semester.
List of highest ranking students will be announced by the Registrar’s Office. Highest ranking students who will not be able to attend the ceremony need to notify the Registrar’s Office.
Highest ranking students are identified based on the principles below decided by the University Senate.
TERMS FOR IDENTIFIYING THE RANKING STUDENTS

Students within their regular education period are taken into consideration when identifying the highest ranking students. Undergraduate students with over 4 years and associate students with over 2 years of education period are not taken into consideration.
- Students, who qualify to graduate as of end of spring semester, are taken into consideration. Grades awarded to students at summer school or as a result of additional exams for senior students are not taken into consideration.
- Students, who successfully completed all anticipated courses and internship (if applicable) for their department/program within their regular education period, are listed starting from the students with the highest GPA.
- The first three students with the highest GPA in their department/program are identified as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in place.
- Faculty/School top three students are chosen among the ones with the highest GPA.
- The top student of the University is chosen among undergraduate program (4-year program) graduates.

Education period and semesters they graduated in are not taken into consideration in identifying the highest ranking students of graduate or doctoral programs. Students, who will graduate at the end of fall or spring semester of that academic year, are listed starting from the students with the highest GPA.
- In the event of more than one student having the same GPA, student with the highest score based on credits and grades of entire courses taken throughout their education will be given priority. If the tie is not broken, student with the highest Y-OSS score among Undergraduate and Associate Program graduates; student with the highest ALES score among Graduate Program graduates will be given priority; and if the tie is still not broken, younger aged student will be given priority.
RELEASE PROCEDURES

Updating Contact Info: Students, who want to attend the ceremony, and all students who qualified to graduate at the end of 2015-2016 academic year (by September 2016) but will not be able to attend the ceremony, need to check and update address, telephone, and e-mail information on OASIS Student Information System.

Returning Computers: Graduates, who are issued a computer, need to contact the IT Directorate.

Unpaid Fees: Graduates need to pay any unpaid tuition fees or other payments in order to receive their diplomas or documents they possess.

Diploma and Diploma Supplement Delivery: Students, who are graduating for sure, are awarded their diplomas and diploma supplements during the ceremony. These students need to complete release procedures by Rehearsal Day, and apply to the Registrar’s Office to sign “Diploma and Diploma Supplement Delivery Form”.
- < > Graduates need to return any materials borrowed from the library in order to complete release procedures. Please apply to the Library Directorate for any concerns about borrowed materials.
Dorm Residents: Graduates staying at the dormitory need to apply to Dormitory Directorate to complete release procedures.

Student and Corporate Activities Directorate (Student Dean’s Office) Procedures: Students who participated in social-cultural activities and in student clubs and Student Council need to apply to the Student and Corporate Activities Directorate in order to complete release procedures for reasons such as returning costumes, etc. used in events.
STUDENTS WHO FAIL TO COMPLETE RELEASE PROCEDURES
Students, who fail to complete release procedures by Rehearsal Day, will not be able to receive their diplomas.
In such case, they will only be given a certificate of achievement during the ceremony. They will be given their diplomas, only after completing release procedures and applying to the Registrar’s Office in person.
